| History of The Chorale |
Formed in 2007 as a result of wildly successful Mozart Requiem and Handel’s Messiah performances the previous year, the Central Virginia Masterworks Chorale is a fresh and visionary group. It consists of 60 singers from the Central Virginia area. Additions with each production will build the membership toward our goal of 100 or more. |
The objective of the Chorale is to perform the best music from choral literature in concert at least twice yearly. The repertoire will be comprised of larger choral works with orchestra, such as Vivaldi’s Gloria, Masses of Mozart and Haydn, Cantatas of Bach, and other works of merit, including new works. Anthems from choral traditions old and new will also be essayed. The Chorale is thrilled to bring great music, via an enriching choral tradition, to the Central Virginia region. Please consider how you might support this effort with your participation as a singer or benefactor. |
